Bob Myers is a father and grandfather who first qualified as an electronics technician. He owned an electrical sales and service business for 15 years before gaining a degree in sociology and further training in relationship counselling, conflict resolution and mediation. He worked in that field for more than thirty years, mainly with teenagers and their families. During that time he was the director of a non-government residential facility for teenagers and the author of two books on family life. Parenting Teenagers in the 1990s and Raising Responsible Teenagers.
After retiring, Bob began facilitating Pace e Bene nonviolence courses and together with other like-minded people founded Pace e Bene Australia, www.paceebene.org.au, a not-for-profit charity established to promote nonviolence to all sides in disputes.
He said, "Somewhere along the way I realized that I was no longer searching for happiness because I had found happiness. After reflecting on how that came about, I wrote my third book, Travelling the Road of Peace and Happiness, so that other people might find what I found."
Bob is keenly interested in social psychology, philosophy and social justice and has chaired a social justice group for many years. He also has a passion for exploring the religions of the east and west. Bob currently facilitates PeBA nonviolence programs aimed at developing a culture of peace and harmony in the home and/or workplace.
